Future Of DotA And Its Trend
Apr 26th
Google has a great tool to determine a certain trend:
This graph shows that DotA is not only getting the same amount of publicity, but it is also gaining in popularity.
There are a few milestones marked on the graph:
A: Lead Dev On DotA: Allstars Joins Valve
B: Valve Trademarks ‘DOTA’
C: (Unimportant non-dota mark)
D: Valve Announces Dota 2
It will be quite interesting to monitor these statistics through the upcoming years. Changes will surely come, when DotA 2 is released but only time will tell.
DotA 2 is also getting some attention:
The rapid growth on announcement is common (marked with A).
Do you believe that gamers will still be interested in DotA or will it lose its players due to the release of DotA 2 somewhere in late 2011?
