After a long day at Gamescom and after first matches 8 teams are still in the game for one million dollar prize.

All the matches were streamed through the official website. But lag became a major problem after more then 1.5 million viewers joined in to see the new Valve’s game.

The International tournament also brought the first peak at DotA 2 gameplay, which as predicted has not changed dramatically. At first glance there are not many major changes but that was the whole idea of keeping the gameplay experience intact. All the heroes were imported from the old DotA.

Keep in mind that the game is going in beta in a few weeks. The real large scale beta, which will certainly bring a few much needed changes to a final product.

Valve is still shy about the DotA 2 release date but it is expected in the late 2011 or early 2012.
