The new Coaching System is something Valve talked a lot about in the “announcement” article.

We can surely expect a change in gameplay dynamics, as many predict the new Coaching System will end many arguments, about new less experienced players – “noobs”. Having a poor player on your team can not only harm you and other members of your team, but can give extra bonus to the opposing team when a poor player gets beaten.
Developers of DotA 2 are now trying to develop unique coaching system which should help preventing such situations. They are also trying to improve the skill-based matchmaking, which would eliminate all better or worse players.

Coaching system will consist of:

  • interactive guides
  • one-on-one coaching through private voice chat
  • AI bots to help getting to know the basics

For experienced players there will be special bonuses for their contribute to newcomers.
